Elvis Costello - She (lyrics)

I'm just sayin... I've always believed myself to be the song that Summer sings.

She may be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
Maybe my treasure or the prize I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
Maybe the children autumn brings
Maybe a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She may be the beauty or the beast
Maybe the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell....

She, who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She maybe the love that cannot hope to last
May come to leap from shadows in the past
That I remember 'till the day I die

She maybe the reason I survive
The why and wherefore kind of life
The one I care for through the rough and ready years

Me, I'll take the laughter and your tears
And make them all my souvenirs
And when she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is
Oh, she....

I forund a GREAT jewelry box yesterday at Goodies (Goodwill).
It plays this:

I was originally ispired to do a jewelry box makeover

I've fallen madly in love with her Baby Blue Bird Box and the TUTORIAL.

I don't expect mine to look this lovely and handpainted, as I'll be using a decal and some decoupage, but we do what we can.

I hope it inspires you too!

Etsy Cottage Style

Are you an Etsy seller?  I've recently become a part of this group and am so glad I did.

Please check them out for some LOVELY Shabby Goodness.

Good Morning Darlings,

Today I would like you to meet Violet LeBeaux.

I think she's just the cutest thing!
She's got so many tutes.  I was thinking I could modify a shower cap tute into a cover for my iron and there she was.  I hope you like her blog.

I found myself on the Bridal page but this website has loads of goodness, bridal or other.

Here's the link: Roses-and-teacups.com

The best Shabby Goodness EVER!

HAPPY FRIDAY!  I hope you're ready for a lovely weekend and if you're on a treasure hunt, I hope you find great new treasures. My favorite parts of Shabby Chic style decorating are the recycling and the hunt.

I was hunting around the web and found some lovely chateaus.  So how about Shabby Goodness from the outside in?

I'm sorry to say these are all "French" Chateaus and I'm guessing the majority of us are stateside, but a girl can dream can't she?

Here's the link: Click here to link over!

The Shabby God-dess

We cannot have a Shabby Chic sort of a blog without bending a knee to the creator of Shabby Chic Style, Decorating Diva and Designer Extraordinaire:
Rachel Ashwell (and her blog).

Etsy Shabby Cottage Secret...shhhhh!

When you go to ETSY...search on "ecs"  this stands for "Etsy Cottage Style".  You'll be glad you did.  All the Shabby Chic insiders know this tip and use it.

Not Too Shabby: Gardens

Today I searched on "shabby hydrangeas" and ended up at Country Living Magazine.

They glammed up an old green house with shabby goodness!

There are so many ads on the page, but the slide show is worth it. Have a look and I hope you enjoy.

Got coffee?

Today how about a look at some Cute Pink Stuff? This promises to be a JAM PACKED blog and I haven't had a thorough look at it yet so I'm off to find my coffee and have a more leisurely look. If you're at the office, please enjoy responsibly.

Well Good Morning Darlings,
Apparently I've had a "Shabby Chic FAIL"!  So I've decided to change the name of this page to "Motorhomes" as opposed to using any sort of Shabby Chic reference in the title.

I am such a HUGE fan of the motorhome redo - I'll take it in any style.

Today's offering, you may have seen before, is Kelly's of "Rose Vine Cottage Two".  Her's was the first I'd seen and I fell madly in love!

Rose Vine Cottage Two

I hope you like this one as much as I do.

Here' a little before picture, just your basic little motorhome.

But what a difference Kelly's decorating eye has given the place!

I think the use of beadboard here was a great idea.

It really seems to give the place a built in charm.

Why is it again I don't wake up in a really cool bedroom like this every morning? I found this on a fun blog, here: All Things Shabby Chic

Wouldn't you love a custom chandelier?

Sandy, at My Darling Chandeliers, makes them to order and they're priced just right!

(This one reminds me of one of those Barbie doll birthday cakes.)

I think her prices are comparable to the big box stores, but you're getting CUSTOM MADE!

She's got all sorts of colorful goodness too.

Sandy custom makes these items herself, I'm sure she can build you whatever it is you have in mind.

Here's the link to her Etsy shop:

(I think she's having a SALE on shipping costs...shhh!)

Peta By The Sea

We all know about eBay but do we all know about ETSY?  Selling online?

This woman sells like the dickens!

Check out her thermoses (thermi???)

They are darn cute, however you spell it.
